Conversation Design with Voxable: the Voxable Assistant
In our last product post, we showed off how conversation designers can preview both voice and chat apps with Voxable. Here we’re excited to debut a feature that augments conversation design with advanced artificial intelligence (AI): the Voxable Assistant powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.
I discussed the potential of AI-assisted conversation design previously. Leveraging cutting-edge technology to expedite script creation is a game-changer for the conversational AI industry. One of the most common tasks when designing an interaction for a voice or chat app is determining what might be said in the next turn of a conversation. How might a virtual assistant respond to a user’s request? What are some of the things a user might say at a given point in the conversation? Much of the conversation design process involves repeatedly answering questions like these to generate messages. Now, the Voxable Assistant is here to help.
The Voxable Assistant Powered by GPT-3
The Voxable Assistant is powered by GPT-3, an advanced AI system built by the AI research and deployment company OpenAI. Using GPT-3 to produce natural language enables the Voxable Assistant to suggest potential messages with the click of a button. With each successful suggestion, Voxable reduces the cost of a voice or chat project and accelerates time to market.
The Voxable Assistant also reduces cognitive load for conversation designers, freeing up their mental energy for the more challenging aspects of the process like refining language to meet branding guidelines, interviewing subject-matter experts, and communicating with stakeholders.
Using the Voxable Assistant
When setting up a new project in Voxable, users can now choose an industry and set of personality traits that describe their bot. This step gives the underlying AI more information about the type of bot being designed so its suggestions align with the bot’s voice, tone, and persona.
Then at any point while writing the script, users can press the lightning bolt button for a bit of inspiration, and the Voxable Assistant will suggest a potential message.
In the example above, the user is scripting a potential interaction with a banking bot. With the click of a button, the user generates another potential response to the bot’s prompt. The Voxable Assistant can suggest potential user or bot messages from the third message in the script and beyond.
This is just the start for the Voxable Assistant. In the coming months, we plan to work with to expand its capabilities and automate more time-consuming conversation design tasks.
